At QualityJunior School, our Early Childhood Development (ECD) department is a vibrant and nurturing environment where young learners are welcomed and encouraged to explore, learn, and grow. We enrol pupils from as young as 2 years of age, providing a comprehensive and developmentally appropriate program that prepares them for a smooth transition into Grade 1.
Our ECD department is structured to support the holistic development of each child, with a focus on social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth. Pupils are placed in different classes based on their age and developmental stage:
• Reception Class (2 years old): In our Reception class, our youngest learners are introduced to a stimulating and engaging environment where they can begin to develop their social skills, independence, and early learning concepts through play-based activities.
• Preschool (3 years old): In the Preschool class, students continue to build on their foundational skills, with a focus on language development, early math concepts, fine and gross motor skills, and social interaction. Our experienced educators provide a supportive and nurturing environment where students can thrive.
• ECDA (4 years old): The ECDA class further builds on the skills and concepts introduced in the Preschool class, with a focus on pre-reading and pre-writing skills, numeracy, creativity, and critical thinking. Students are encouraged to explore their interests and develop a love for learning.
• ECDB (5 years old): In the ECDB class, students are prepared for the transition to Grade 1 through a comprehensive curriculum that focuses on literacy, numeracy, problem-solving, and social skills. Our dedicated teachers work closely with students to ensure they are ready for the academic challenges of primary school.
